How to Create a Free Giveaway for Your Marketing

Whether you're looking to increase excitement about your new product, to boost your customer engagement, or to expand your subscriber list giveaways are a great place to start.

Since giveaways are usually easy and inexpensive to operate they provide a high return on investment. Giveaways can result in increased product awareness when done correctly and can improve the relationship you have with your target audience, which is why it is important to include them in your marketing strategy.

But no matter how smart and fun your free giveaway is, it won't mean something if nobody knows that it exists. You need to develop a marketing campaign to make it worthwhile. That's the only way you'll get momentum from your efforts and reap the benefits. Here are my tips to get started:

Collect Referrals About The Giveaway

There is nothing that could ever match up to the influence of personal recommendations when it comes to marketing. It's all a matter of trust: we take people's opinions and perspectives seriously and see them as more trustworthy than a business simply talking about how great they are. What's great about referrals is that they help people visualize what to expect. Collecting referrals is a lot easier said than done, especially depending on the nature of your business. You’ll need to work on this well in advance of launching a free giveaway for a product.

Take Advantage of Email Marketing

Email remains a powerful marketing tool that continues to evolve. Set up your freebie so that users have to provide an email in order to gain access. This will help you to grow your lists with people who are interested in the products and services being offered.

Promote the Giveaway

You can take advantage of social media and advertising to promote your giveaway. Don’t just share the product or service details and expect it to resonate. Come up with creative ways to share content about the giveaway. You can set up a contest, do a few Facebook lives or Instagram stories. Share testimonial videos or behind the scenes content with people using your products and services.

Create a Strong Landing Page

Having a dedicated landing page for your giveaway will work wonders. You will be able to better analyze how successful the campaign was. You will be able to retarget those users who came and did not sign up. Plus you will be able to share all the relevant details to the giveaway with no other distractions interfering with a user’s likelihood of signing up.

Why Your Marketing Needs User-Generated Content

Why Your Marketing Needs User-Generated Content

User-generated content, or UGC, is any internet content that’s created by a person, not a brand. UGC is usually in the form of a review, testimonial, image, or video. For example, it could be a photo of you enjoying a delicious Thai meal that you upload to Instagram with the restaurant tagged. You’ve just provided the restaurant with some great UGC. If you’re neglecting UGC for your business, you’re missing out on a huge opportunity in your marketing strategy.
