5 Tips on Marketing Strategies for Father's Day

It’s already June, which means you’ll have to adopt marketing strategies for Father’s Day (coming up on June 20th). There’s a common misconception that men without kids have the same likes and interests as men with kids. This is certainly not the case. The fact is, fatherhood changes quite a lot in a man’s life, making the marketing approach for the modern dad a different ballgame altogether.

Here are 5 tips on marketing to fathers this coming Father’s Day:

1. Get With the Times

An important aspect to understand is that the modern dad is not the same as what was perceived a decade or two ago. Fathers are much more involved than often depicted in the media and don’t like being perceived otherwise. So, make sure you cater to the modern dad who is involved with his family life and knows about parenthood.

2. Recognize Their Devotion to Their Roles

As mentioned before, modern fathers are much more involved than in previous generations. 94% of dads said parenthood makes up a huge part of their identity, so be sure to highlight the importance of fatherhood and how rewarding it is.

3. Reassure Them That They’re Doing a Good Job

The biggest concern for any parent is balancing work and family time. Dads often feel that they’re not spending enough time with their kids, with means your marketing strategies for Father’s Day should highlight the fact that they are doing an excellent job at caring for their kids – both financially and attentively.

4. Stick to Digital and Mobile-Friendly Marketing

Case in point, the internet is the main resource to find the latest, trendiest products. So, your marketing approach for the modern dad would obviously center around platforms and content relevant to what they use most often.

5. Adapt to Changing Purchasing Decisions

Parenthood brings along many behavioral changes in both men and women, one of which is expenditure. Dads are more likely to go for the best products suited for their family, which means you need to consider the value versus cost differentials in your pricing and marketing.

And there you have it. If you’re planning on boosting your sales this coming Father’s Day, be sure to cater specifically to the modern dad.
